Title
A substitute ordinance to further amend the 2020 rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service.
Analysis
This substitute ordinance changes the rates of pay in the following departments:
Election Commission, Fire Department, Health Department, Department of Neighborhood Services
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 190613 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 21, 2020 - October 4, 2020):
Under Pay Range 1JX, delete the title of “Public Health Deputy Laboratories Director”.
Under Pay Range 1JX, add the title of “Public Health Assistant Laboratories Director (2)(5)”.
Part 2. Part 1, Section 2 of ordinance File Number 190613 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 21, 2020 - October 4, 2020):
Under Pay Range 2EN, replace footnotes “(7)” and “(23)” to read as follows:
“(7) Employees to be paid in the following range with recruitment may be at any rate in the range based upon experience and credentials with DER approval.

Part 4. Part 1, Section 9 of ordinance File Number 190613 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:
Under Pay Range 9EN, change “Official Rate Hourly” to “Official Rate Biweekly”, add footnote designations “(1)” and “(3)” to the title of “Temporary Program Assistant I”; delete footnote designations “(1)” and “(2)” from and add footnote designations “(2)” and “(4)” to the title of “Temporary Administrative Assistant II”; and delete the current “Wage Rate” table, “Resident Wage Incentive” table, and all footnotes and replace with the following:

Under Pay Range 9AX, add the title of “Temporary Testing Specimen Collector (3)(6)”.
Under Pay Range 9UN, remove current footnote designation “(2)” from and add new footnote designation “(3)” to the title of “Temporary Customer Service Representative II”, add the title of “Temporary Deliver Driver (2) (4), renumber current footnote “(2)” to footnote “(3)”, and add new footnotes “(2)” and “(4)” to read as follows:
“(2) Employees to be paid in the following range. Recruitment at any point in the range with DER approval.

Part 6. All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Part 7. The provisions of Parts 1, 2, and 5 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 21, 2020 (October 4, 2020).
The provisions of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after its passage and publication.
Part 8. This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
