This resolution appropriates $15,000 from the 1997 Common Council Contingent Fund to complete funding for recreational facilities improvement at the Emanuel Philipp School located at 4310 N. 16th Street. The cost of such improvement is estimated at $40,000, of which the Department of Public Works - Buildings and Fleet Division (Recreational Facilities) will provide $15,000. The rest of the funding will come from the private sector.
BODY:
Whereas, A totlot was installed in 1988 by the City of Milwaukee at the Emanuel Philipp School, 4310 N. 16th Street; and
Whereas, The totlot benefits children at the school as well as those residing in the area; and
Whereas, There is a need to expand recreational facilities at the school in light of increased enrollment due to the addition of a kindergarten program, and to upgrade the facilities to current standards; and
Whereas, The Department of Public Works- Buildings and Fleet Division (Recreational Facilities) will provide $15,000 of the estimated $40,000 cost of upgrading such recreational facilities at the school; and
Whereas, The rest of the funding for this project -$10,000- will come from the private sector; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that $15,000 is appropriated from the 1997 Common Council Contingent Fund (Account Number 09-910-8000) and transferred to the Department of Public Works - Buildings and Fleet Division, Recreational Facilities 1998 School Play Area Reconstruction Account Number 31-055-1154, to complete funding for recreational facilities at the Emanuel Philipp School, 4310 N. 16th Street; said amount not to be expended until $10,000 is obtained from the private sector for this project.
