Substitute ordinance to further amend the 1998 offices and positions in the City Service under control of the Common Council.
BODY:
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Section 1 of ordinance File Number 970831 relative to offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:
Under "Department of City Development, Public Housing Programs Decision Unit, Housing and Neighborhood Development Division, Fiscal Section", delete one position of "Management Accountant (A),(X),(Y)" and add one position of Management Accountant-Senior (A),(X),(Y)" and under "Financial Service and Marketing, Disaster Relief Grant", add one position of "Housing Program Specialist (C)(X)" and create footnote "(C)" to read: "To expire unless 1997 Disaster Relief Flood Grant, available from the United States Department of Housing and Urban Development, is extended." and add footnote designation "(C)(X)" to one position of "Housing Rehabilitation Specialist-Senior."
Under "Health Department, Administration Unit, Childhood Lead Detection Grant", delete one position of "Office Assistant IV" and under "Public Health Services Decision Unit, Childhood Lead Detection Grant", add one position of "Office Assistant IV" and amend footnote "(Z)" to read: "To expire 6/30/99 unless the Childhood Lead Detection Grant, available from the State of Wisconsin Division of Health and Social Services, is extended."; under "Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Grant", delete one position of "Public Health Aide" and amend footnote "(W)" to read: "To expire 6/30/99 unless the Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Grant, available from the State of Wisconsin Division of Health and Social Services, is extended."; and under "Cardiovascular Risk Reduction Grant", delete one position of "Public Health Nurse Supervisor (X)" and one position of "Public Health Educator (X)" and add one position of "Health Project Coordinator (X)" and two positions of "Graduate Intern (Part-time, temporary)" and amend foonote "(I)" to read: "To expire 9/30/98 unless the 1998 Prevention Block Grant, available from the State of Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services, is extended."
Under "Police Department, Administration/Services Decision Unit, Technical Services Bureau", delete one position of "Captain of Police" and substitute therefor one position of "Information Systems Manager"; under "Communications Maintenance Division", delete one position of "Police Electronic Technician" and add one position of "Electronic Technician"; under "Office of the Chief of Police", add one position of "Public Relations Manager"; under "Operations Decision Unit, Special Assignment Division", delete one position of "Administrative Police Sergeant (D)"; and under "Personnel and Administration Bureau, Maintenance Services Section", delete one position of "Building Maintenance Manager" and substitute therefor one position of "Building and Fleet Maintenance Manager."
Under "Department of Public Works, Buildings and Fleet Division, Facilities Management Section, Operations and Maintenance Unit", delete five positions of "Communications Assistant IV" and substitute in lieu thereof five positions of "Communications Assistant III."
Part 2. All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Part 3. The provisions of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after the first day of the first pay period following passage and publication.
Part 4. This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
