Substitute resolution determining it necessary to make various nonassessable public improvements at various locations and appropriating funds for these purposes with the City engineering cost estimated to be $255,000 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $2,682,000.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes engineering studies on projects which by City Charter are nonassessable. After design plans and estimates of costs have been prepared, a resolution authorizing construction will be submitted to the Common Council. The City cost for engineering these projects is estimated to be $255,000 with the total cost estimated to be $2,682,000.

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it is necessary and in the public interest to do the following described improvements according to City specifications:
1st Aldermanic District
N. 24th Pl. - W. Lincoln Creek Pkwy. to 350 feet m/l south of W. Stark St. (SM495120036): Relaying sanitary sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $410,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2012 construction season.
N. 24th St. - W. Lincoln Creek Pkwy. to W. Linwall Ln. (SM495120035): Relaying sanitary sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $349,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2012 construction season.
4th Aldermanic District
W. Wells St. - N. 17th St. to N. 19th St. (SM495120038): Combined large diameter sewer lining and sewer lining. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $165,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2012 construction season.
N. 19th St. - W. Kilbourn Ave. to W. Wells St. (SM495120039): Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $188,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2012 construction season.
N. 22nd St. - W. Wisconsin Ave. to W. Wells St. (SM495120037): Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $131,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2012 construction season.

W. Concordia Ave. - N. 37th St. to N. 38th St. (SM495120033): New sanitary sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $190,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2012 construction season.
8th Aldermanic District
S. 28th St. - 150 feet m/l south of W. Evergreen Ln. to 400 feet m/l south of W. National Ave. (SM495120040): Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $291,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2012 construction season.
9th Aldermanic District
W. County Line Rd. - 105 feet west of N. Michael Ct. to 470 feet east of N. 107th St. (WT410120701): Water main extension. (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 5010 -- $5,000; Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $30,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $700,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2012 construction season.
14th Aldermanic District
S. Quincy Ave. - E. Montana St. to E. Russell Ave. (SM495120034): Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $158,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2012 construction season.
City Wide
Sewer Maintenance Exams (SM495120041): (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $100,000). The total estimated cost for this project is $100,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2012 construction season.

Further Resolved, That all City Departments are authorized to perform engineering, surveys, plan preparation, and determine an estimated cost thereof; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
