Title
Resolution relating to acceptance and funding of a NACCHO-Trauma Proximity Data Grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Fire Department to accept and fund the NACCHO-Trauma Proximity Data Grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in the amount of $46,294.00. The purpose of the project is to develop a cross referencing tool for Milwaukee Fire Department (MFD) 911 incidents and Milwaukee Public School (MPS) student’s home addresses. This will allow MPS to provide counseling and support services at schools where students may have been impacted by a traumatic event.

Whereas, Under the terms of CFDA/AL Program #93.421, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention to provide development of a data sharing tool; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 2/1/2024 to 7/31/2024 would cost $46,294.00 entirely provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the application to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is authorized and the Fire Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2024 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Project fund, the following amount for the project titled NACCHO-Trauma Proximity Data Grant:

And to create the necessary Special Revenue Fund - Grant and Aid Project/Grant and Project/Grant Levels; budget against these Project/Grant values the amounts required under the grant agreement; and, be it
Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted through the Fire Department which is authorized to:
1. Expend from the amount budgeted sums for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budgets and incur costs consistent with the award date;
2. Enter into sub-contracts as detailed in the grant budgets;
3. Expend from the 2024 grant budget for equipment as specified in the grant budget; and, be it
