Analysis:
This resolution authorizes application, acceptance and expenditure of the Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant from the State of Wisconsin, Department of Justice, Office of Justice Assistance.
Body:
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the State of Wisconsin, Department of Justice, Office of Justice Assistance for the Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant from 07/01/2004 to 06/30/2005 would cost $452,272 of which $51,879 would be provided by the city and $400,393 would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Community Block Grant Administration shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 030712; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2004 Special Revenue- Grant and Aid Projects, the following amounts for the program titled Juvenile Accountability Incentive Block Grant:

2. Create the necessary Grant and Aid Project/Grant and Project/Grant levels: budget against these Project/Grant values the amount required under the grant agreement; and
3. Establish the necessary City Share Project Values; and, be it
Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted for the Community Block
Grant Administration which is authorized to:
1. Expend from the amount budgeted for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date;
2. Expend from the 2004 grant budget funds for specific items of
equipment.
