Title

Substitute resolution reserving and appropriating $300,000 from the 2019 Common Council Contingent Fund to the Health Department to provide services to residents in areas where high concentrations of households with lead-poisoned children have been reported.

Analysis

This resolution reserves and appropriates up to $300,000 from the 2019 Common Council Contingent Fund to the Health Department to provide services as authorized by the Common Council in Common Council File Number 180343, adopted on July 31, 2018.  The Health Department shall contract with the Social Development Commission and the Sixteenth Street Community Health Center to provide services to residents in areas where high concentrations of households with lead-poisoned children have been reported.  

Body

Whereas, Common Council Resolution File Number 180343, adopted on July 31, 2018, directed the execution of contracts with the Social Development Commission and the Sixteenth Street Community Health Center to provide various services to residents in areas where high concentrations of households with lead-poisoned children have been reported; and

 

Whereas, These contracts were to be funded from the 2018 Common Council Contingent Fund; and

 

Whereas, These contracts will be executed in the 2019 fiscal year, with contracts not to exceed $150,000 per contract, with a total amount not to exceed $300,000; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Health Department is directed to enter into contracts with the Social Development Commission and the Sixteenth Street Community Health Center to provide the services specified in Common Council File Number 180343; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That services provided under these contracts shall not exceed $150,000 per contract; and, be it;

 

Further Resolved, That the contracts shall be funded through the 2019 Common Council Contingent Fund; and, be it;

 

Further Resolved, That up to $300,000 from the 2019 Common Council Contingent Fund (0001-9990-C001-006300) (2019) shall be reserved and appropriated to the Health Department (0001-3810-R999-006300) (2019); and be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller and other appropriate City officials are directed to take all actions necessary to fulfill the intent of this resolution; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Health Department shall provide a report on the progress of this program to the Common Council  no later than December 31, 2019.
