Analysis
This resolution amends Common Council File 971620 relative to the Municipal Health Services Program Grant. The purpose of the program is to grant waivers to allow City of Milwaukee Medicare recipients to be eligible for services not normally covered by Medicare. .
Body
Whereas, Common Council File 971620 authorized the Health Department to apply for, accept and fund the Municipal Health Services Program Grant from the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services for the purpose of granting waivers to allow City of Milwaukee Medicare recipients to be eligible for services not normally covered by Medicare. This grant provided for a Grantor share total of $9,589,359; and
Whereas, The Grantor share for this program is increased by $320,000; now, therefore be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that application to Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services is authorized and the Health Department shall accept such a grant without further Common Council approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 030712 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to commit funds within the Project/Grant parent of the 2004 Special Revenue Accounts-Grant and Aid Projects fund, the following amounts for the program titled Municipal Health Services Program:
