Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to install traffic signal interconnect cable at various locations in the City of Milwaukee.
Body
Whereas, The Congestion Mitigation/Air Quality Program includes appropriations for traffic control improvements which reduce congestion and improve air quality; and
Whereas, Common Council Resolution File Number 941833 adopted March 27, 1995, authorized and directed the Commissioner of Public Works to execute an agreement for installation of signal interconnect cable at various locations with Federal/State Aid under the Congestion Mitigation/Air Quality Program; and
Whereas, The total estimated cost of this project is $162,000 for the installation of traffic signal interconnect cable at various locations; and
Whereas, Twenty percent of the participating costs or $32,400 is non-reimbursable and is included in the Division's 2003 Capital Purpose Project/Grant Number ST320030000; and
Whereas, Eighty percent of the participating project cost or $129,600 is reimbursable from the State Department of Transportation and this amount is not included in Division accounts, and should be earmarked for this project in the 2003 Capital Grant and Aid Projects Fund Project/Grant Number SP032030100; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works be and hereby is authorized and directed to enter into an agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation, pertaining to the cost participation for the installation of traffic signal interconnect cable at various locations with agreed unit prices based on a predetermined estimate prepared under the Federal/State aided highway program; and, be it
Further Resolved, That upon execution of the agreement, the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to install traffic signal interconnect cable at various locations; and, be it
Further Resolved, That upon acceptance of this Grant Agreement, the City Comptroller is hereby authorized to create within the Capital Grant and Aid Projects Fund the appropriate Project/Grant Number for this project and transfer to this account the amounts required under the Grant Agreements but not to exceed a ten percent increase in those amounts set aside for the Grantor's Share and the City's Share as follows:
