Analysis
This resolution authorizes payment in the amount of $5,428.89 to Insight Forensic Accountants, S.C., for expert services relating to the trial of Tri-Corp Housing’s claims against City of Milwaukee Alderman Robert Bauman.
Body
Whereas, On or about January 3, 2019, the City Attorney entered into a Contract for Expert Services between the City of Milwaukee and Insight Forensic Accountants, S.C., for expert services with respect to plaintiff’s claim of economic damages in the defense and trial of the matter entitled Tri-Corp Housing, Inc. v Bauman, Milwaukee County Circuit Court Case No. 07-CV-013965; and
Whereas, The original agreement attached to the file as Exhibit A authorized payment in an amount not to exceed $10,000; and
Whereas, On or about March 27, 2019, the City Attorney entered into a first amended agreement attached to the file as Exhibit B authorized payment in an amount not to exceed $20,000; and
Whereas, The total cost of expert services has exceeded the prior agreed amounts in order to get the matter through the trial conducted in February 2022 by $5,428.89; and
Whereas, The City desires to pay Insight Forensic Accountants, S.C., for the reasonable costs of its expert services; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City Attorney is authorized to execute the Second Amendment to Contract for Expert Services between City of Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Insight Forensic Accountants, S.C., substantially in the form of Exhibit C attached to this file, for expert services rendered in the defense and trial of the Tri-Corp Housing, Inc. v Bauman, Milwaukee County Circuit Court Case No. 07-CV-013965; and, be it
Further Resolved, That an amount not to exceed $5,428.89 is appropriated from the City Attorney’s Office Counsel Expert Witness Special Purpose Account Number 0001-1490-S157-06300 for retaining outside counsel; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Office of the City Attorney is directed to expend up to $5,428.89 from this account for this purpose.
