Title
Substitute ordinance to further amend the 2002 rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service under control of the Common Council.
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Section 2 of ordinance File Number 010467 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 14, 2002 – June 23, 2002):
Under Salary Grade 012 add the footnote designation "3/" following the title "legislative Fiscal Manager-Senior" and add the following footnote: "3/ Appointment of Audra Millen authorized at the eighth step of Salary Grade 012."
Part 2. Section 2 of ordinance File Number 010467 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 17, 2002 – August 4, 2002):
Delete the paragraph above the first salary grade and substitute the following paragraph:
"All management salary grade pay steps that exceed $50,000 ($1,923.08 or more biweekly) as of Pay Period 26, 2001, will remain at 2001 rates for seven months (Pay Periods 1-16 of 2002). Effective Pay Period 17, 2002, the 3.0% wage increase for 2002 will be applied to those pay steps. The effective date for the scheduled step increases for the Mayor and Common Council members will also be delayed 15 pay periods from Pay Period 10 to 25, 2002. Specific information is provided in each affected salary grade."
In Salary Grades 004-020, at the end of each heading above the rates effective Pay Period 1, 2002, delete "PP 1-13" and substitute "PP 1-16". In addition, delete each heading above the rates effective Pay Period 14, 2002, and substitute the following heading: "Effective Pay Period 17, 2002 - August 4, 2002 (2002 rates for all steps).
Under Salary Grade 010, in footnote "1/", delete the effective date of "Pay Period 23, 2002" and substitute "Pay Period 25, 2002". In the Second paragraph, delete the effective date of "Pay Period 23, 2002" and substitute "Pay Period 25, 2002."
Under Salary Grade 020, in footnote "1/", delete the effective date of "Pay Period 23, 2002", and substitute "Pay Period 25, 2002."
Part 3. Section 8 of ordinance File Number 010467 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 2001 – December 24, 2000):
Under Pay Range 530, in footnote "2/" delete the rate $1,446.84 and substitute $1,483.01.
Part 4. Section 8 of ordinance File Number 010467 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 2002 – December 23, 2001):
Under Pay Range 530, in footnote "2/" delete the rate $1,483.01 and substitute $1,527.50.
Part 5. Section 25 of ordinance File Number 010467 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 16, 2002 – July 21, 2002):

Part 6. All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Part 7. The provisions of part 1 of this ordinance are deemed to have been in force and effect from and after Pay Period 14, 2002 June 23, 2002).
The provisions of part 2 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 17, 2002 (August 4, 2002).
The provisions of part 3 of this ordinance are deemed to have been in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 2001 (December 24, 2000).
The provisions of part 4 of this ordinance are deemed to have been in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 2002 (December 23, 2001).
The provisions of part 5 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 16, 2002 (July 21, 2002).
Part 8. The provisions of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after the first day of the first pay period following passage and publication.
Part 9. This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
