Resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of the Fight Asthma Milwaukee Allies Grant. (Health Department)
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to apply, accept and fund the Fight Asthma Milwaukee Allies Grant project from the Children's Hospital of Wisconsin in the amount of $111,959 consisting of $84,180 provided by the grantor and $27,779 in City share costs. The purpose of the project will be to support care coordination and case management for children who receive emergency department services due to the severity of their asthma.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from Children's Hospital of Wisconsin to support care coordination and case management for children who receive emergency department services due to the severity of their asthma; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 01/01/03 to 12/31/03 would cost $111,959 consisting of $84,180 provided by the grantor and $27,779 in City share costs; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2003 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects Fund, the following amounts for the project titled Fight Asthma Milwaukee Allies Grant:

2. Create the necessary Grant and Aid Project/Grant and Project/Grant Levels; budget against these Project/Grant values the amount required under the grant agreement;

Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted to the Health Department which is authorized to:
1. Expend from the amount budgeted sums for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date;
2. Expend from the 2003 grant budget funds for training and out-of-town travel by departmental staff; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Common Council directs that the 2003 Positions Ordinance C.C. File Number 020487, should be amended as follows:
