Title

Resolution amending Common Council File Number 021698 relative to the transfer and expenditure of $7,000 from the Neighborhood Commercial District Street Improvement Fund for installation of banners on Lincoln Avenue between Forest Home Avenue and 35^th Street.

Analysis

This resolution amends Common Council File Number 021698, adopted on March 25, 2003, which approved the transfer and expenditure of $7,000 from the Neighborhood Commercial District Street Improvement Fund to the Milwaukee Alliance for the installation of banners on Greenfield Avenue between 16^th and 27^th Streets and on Lincoln Avenue between Forest Home Avenue and 35^th Street. Under this resolution, the Layton Boulevard West Neighbors will receive and expend the $7,000 instead of the Milwaukee Alliance, for the installment of banners on Lincoln Avenue between Forest Home Avenue and 35^th Street only.

Body

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that Common Council Resolution File Number 021698, adopted on March 25, 2003, authorizing the transfer and expenditure of $7,000 from the Neighborhood Commercial District Street Improvement Fund, is amended as follows:

1.      Delete the 3^rd and 4^th  "Whereas" clauses.

2.  Delete the 5^th and 6^th  "Whereas" clauses and insert the following in lieu thereof:

"Whereas, Layton Boulevard West Neighbors has invested time and resources into the improvement of the Greenfield Avenue commercial neighborhood district and the Lincoln Avenue commercial neighborhood district and is now proposing the installation of banners on Lincoln Avenue between Forest Home Avenue and 35^th Street; and

Whereas, The installation of banners will greatly enhance the Lincoln Avenue neighborhood investments; and"

3.      Delete the "Resolved" clause and insert the following in lieu thereof:

"Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer $7,000 from the Neighborhood Commercial District Street Improvement Fund to the Project Account for the Layton Boulevard West Neighbors to use for the installation of banners on Lincoln Avenue between Forest Home Avenue and 35^th Street; and, be it".
