Title

A substitute ordinance to further amend the 2025 offices and positions in the City Service.

 

Analysis

This substitute ordinance changes the offices and positions in the following departments:

Department of Administration (Office of the Director, Budget and Management Division), Common Council-City Clerk, Library, Police Department

 

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

 

Part 1.  Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 240765 relative to offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:

 

Under “Police Department”, amend footnote (S) and add footnote (EE) to read:

 

(S)                      State Beat Patrol Grant: To expire 12/31/2025 unless the State Beat Patrol Program Grant available from the Wisconsin Department of Justice is extended.

 

(EE)                      FY24 COPS Hiring Program Grant: Position authority for 50 grant funded police officer positions to expire on 9/30/2029 unless the FY24 COPS Hiring Program grant is extended and maintained for a period of not less than 12 months following the end of the grant, unless the COPS Hiring Grant is extended.

 

Under “Assigned As Needed Within Decision Unit”, add fifty positions of “Police Officer (EE)”.

 

Part 2.  Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 240765 relative to offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 2025 - December 22, 2024):

 

Under “Common Council-City Clerk, Legislative Reference Bureau Division”, delete one position of “Legislative Fiscal Analyst-Lead” and add one position of “Legislative and Fiscal Services Specialist”.     

 

Under “Library; IT, Technical Services, & Collections Decision Unit; Acquisitions, Serials, & Interlibrary Loan Services Section”, add one position of “Library Technical Services Specialist - Lead”.

 

Part 3.  Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 240765 relative to offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 3, 2025 - January 19, 2025):

 

Under “Department of Administration, Office of the Director”, add one position of “Innovation Policy Analyst”.

 

Under “Department of Administration, Budget and Management Division”, delete one position of “Budget and Fiscal Policy Analyst IV”.

 

Part 4.  All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

 

Part 5.  The provisions of Part of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 2025 (December 22, 2024).

 

Part 6.  The provisions of Part of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 3, 2025 (January 19, 2025).

 

The provisions of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after its passage and publication.

 

Part 7.  This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
