Title

A substitute ordinance to further amend the 2024 rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service.

 

Analysis

This substitute ordinance changes the rates of pay in the following departments:

Common Council-City Clerk, Department of Emergency Communications, Fire Department, Police Department, Department of Public Works (Infrastructure Services Division, Operations Division, Sewer Maintenance Fund)

 

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

 

Part 1.  Part 1, Section 3 of ordinance File Number 230639 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 22, 2024 - October 13, 2024):

 

Under Pay Range 3LN, add footnote (1) to read:

 

(1)                     Recruitment is at:

 

Biweekly                     1,928.08

Annual                                          50,130.08

 

Part 2.  Part 1, Section 5 of ordinance File Number 230639 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 24, 2024 - November 10, 2024):

 

Under Pay Range 5LN, amend footnote (4) to read the following:

 

(4)                      Appointment may be at any rate in the following pay range with the approval of DER.

 

Biweekly                      2,565.99                      3,155.82

Annual                      66,715.74                      82,051.32

 

A 911 Dispatcher assigned to intermittent on-the-job peer training to be paid an additional 5% or at the minimum of the following range, whichever is greater.

 

A 911 Dispatcher assigned to continuous lead worker duties in the Police Department or assigned to perform Fire Dispatcher-Senior duties in the Fire Department is to be paid an additional 7% or at least the minimum of the following range, whichever is greater. For purposes of promotion from this title, the assignment rate is to be considered the employee’s base rate.

Part 3.  Part 1, Section 7 of ordinance File Number 230639 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 2, 2024 - January 7, 2024):

 

Under Pay Range 7KN, amend footnote (16) to read:

 

(16)                      Employees in this title within DPW - Electrical Services to be paid the following rate:

 

Biweekly                     3,569.06

Annual                                          92,795.56

 

Part 4.  Part 1, Section 8 of ordinance File Number 230639 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 18, 2023 - August 20, 2023):

 

Under Pay Range 8AN, amend footnote (8) to read:

 

(8)                      Employees who attain a CDL to be paid an additional 3% biweekly.

 

Part 5.  Part 1, Section 8 of ordinance File Number 230639 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 25, 2024 - November 24, 2024):

 

Under Pay Range 8AN, amend footnote (8) to read:

 

(8)                      Employees who attain a CDL to be paid an additional 3% biweekly. For purposes of promotion from this title, the 3% CDL pay shall be rolled into the base rate and be treated as base-building.

 

Part 6.  All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

 

Part 7.  The provisions of Part 4 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 18, 2023 (August 20, 2023).

 

Part 8.  The provisions of Part 3 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 2, 2024 (January 7, 2024).

 

Part 9.  The provisions of Part 1 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 22, 2024 (October 13, 2024).

 

Part 10.  The provisions of Part 2 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 24, 2024 (November 10, 2024).

 

Part 11.  The provisions of Part 5 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 25, 2024 (November 24, 2024).

 

The provisions of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after its passage and publication.

 

Part 12.  This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
