Title

A substitute ordinance to further amend the 2024 offices and positions in the City Service.

 

Analysis

This substitute ordinance changes the offices and positions in the following departments:

Department of Administration (Office of the Director), Common Council-City Clerk, Department of Employee Relations, Fire Department, Library, Mayor, Department of Neighborhood Services (Administrative Services Section), Department of Public Works (Administrative Services Division, Operations Division, Water Works)

 

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

 

Part 1.  Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 230641 relative to offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:

 

Under “Fire Department, Operations Bureau Decision Unit, amend footnote (R) to read:

 

(R)                      Position authority to expire September 30, 2024.

 

Under “Special Operations”, delete one position of “Battalion Chief, Fire (R)”.

 

Part 2.  Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 230641 relative to offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 17, 2024 - August 4, 2024):

 

Under “Department of Administration, Office of the Director”, delete one position of “Creative Design and Brand Specialist (T)” and add one position of “Brand and Creative Services Officer (T)”.

 

Under “Common Council-City Clerk, Central Administration Division”, delete footnote designation (E) from three positions of “Executive Administrative Assistant I (0.5FTE) (Y) (E)” and amend footnote “(E)” to read:

 

(E)                     Position(s) are designated as bilingual.

 

Under “Department of Employee Relations, Operations Division, Staffing and Certification Services”, add one position of “Position Control Specialist”.

 

Under “Compensation and Pay Administration Services”, delete one position of “HRIS Audit Coordinator” and add one position of “HRIS Auditor - Lead”.

 

Under “Fire Department, EMS/Training/Education Bureau Decision Unit, EMS (Emergency Medical Services) Division”, delete one position of “Fire Lieutenant” and add one position of “Milwaukee Overdose Response Initiative Lead Assistant”.

 

Under “Training Division”, delete two positions of “Fire Lieutenant”, add one position of “Fire Community Relations Director”, add one position of “Survive Alive House Director”; delete one position of “Media Specialist” and add one position of “Media Producer”.

 

Under “Fire Department, Support Services Bureau Decision Unit, Administrative Division”, delete one position of “Office Assistant IV” and add one position of “Fire Records Specialist”.

 

Under “Library, Administrative Services Decision Unit, Communications and Marketing Division”, delete one position of “Administrative Specialist - Senior” and add one position of “Marketing and Communications Officer”; delete one position of “Community Relations and Engagement Director (X)(Y)” and add one position of “Communications and Community Engagement Director (X)(Y)”;  delete one position of “Library Marketing Specialist” and add one position of “Marketing and Communications Coordinator”.

 

Under “Mayor, Administration”, delete one position of “Staff Assistant to the Mayor (Y)” and add one position of “Policy and Administration Coordinator (Y)”.

 

Under “Department of Neighborhood Services, Administrative Services Section, delete one position of “Certification and Communications Coordinator (X)” and add one position of “Marketing and Communications Officer (X)”.

 

Under “Department of Public Works, Administrative Services Division, Planning and Development”, delete one position of “Marketing and Communications Officer (X)(Y)” and add one position of “Marketing and Communications Officer - Lead (X)(Y)”.

 

Under “Department of Public Works, Operations Division, Administration Section”, delete one position of “Environmental Policy Analyst” and add one position of “Operations Policy and Grant Manager”.

 

Under “Department of Public Works, Water Works, Business Organization, Meter Services”, delete one position of “Custodial Worker III”.

 

Under “Department of Public Works, Water Works, Distribution Organization, Field Operations”, add one position of “MWW Maintenance Worker”.

 

Part 3.  All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

 

Part 4.  The provisions of Part 2 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 17, 2024 (August 4, 2024).

 

The provisions of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after its passage and publication.

 

Part 5.  This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
