Title
Resolution relative to the acceptance and funding of the Communicable Disease Prevention grant from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, Division of Public Health.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to accept and fund the Communicable Disease Prevention Grant project from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, Division of Public Health in the amount of $28,000. The purpose of the project is increase trainings and competencies around communicable disease issues.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, Division of Public Health for enhancing capabilities around STI strategic planning; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 07.01.20 to 6.30.21 would cost $28,000 entirely provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Wisconsin Department of Health Services, Division of Public Health is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Section 304-81; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2020 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects fund the following amounts for the program titled Communicable Disease Prevention Grant:

2. Create the necessary Special Revenue Fund - Grant and Aid Project/Grant and Project level values; budget to these Project/Grant Values the amount required under the grant agreement; and, be it
Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted to the Health Department which is authorized to:
1. Expend from the amount budgeted sums for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date; and
2. Expend from the 2020 grant budget funds for training and out-of-town travel by departmental staff; and
3. Expend from the 2020 grant budget funds for specific items of equipment; and
4. Enter into subcontracts and leases as detailed in the grant budget.
