Resolution amending Common Council File 990798 relative to application, acceptance and funding of the Women, Infants and Children's Grant. (Health Department)
ANLS:
This resolution amends Common Council File 990798 relative to application, acceptance and funding of the Women, Infants and Children's Grant. The purpose of the grant is to prevent nutrition related health problems and to improve the health status of low income, at-risk pregnant or breast feeding infants and children up to the age of five years.
BODY:
Whereas, Common Council File 990798 authorized the Health Department to apply for, accept and fund the Women, Infants and Children's Grant from the State of Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services for the purpose of preventing nutrition related health problems and to improve the health status of low income, at-risk pregnant or breast feeding infants and children up to the age of five years. This grant provided for a Grantor share total of $ 1,187,022; and
Whereas, The Grantor share for this program is increased by $88,422; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that application to the State of Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services is authorized and the Health Department shall accept such a grant without further Common Council approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to commit funds within Project/Grant Parent 2000 Special Revenue Grant and Aid Projects fund, the following amount for the project titled Women, Infants and Children's Grant:

Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted to the Health Department which is authorized to:
1. Expend from the 2000 grant budget funds for specified items of equipment;
2. Expend from the 2000 grant budget funds for training and out-of-town travel by departmental staff;
3. Enter into subcontracts and leases as detailed in the grant budget; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Common Council directs that the 2000 Positions Ordinance, Common Council File 990704, should be amended as follows:

Delete:
