Title

A substitute ordinance to further amend the 2017 offices and positions in the City Service.

 

Analysis

This substitute ordinance changes the rates of pay in the following departments:

Department of City Development, Health Department, Police Department, Department of Public Works

 

Body

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

 

Part 1.  Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 160594 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:

 

Under “Health Department”, amend footnote “(N)” to read as follows:

 

“(N)                     To expire 03/31/18 unless the Newborn Hearing Screening Grant is extended. Partially funds one position of Public Health Nurse.”

 

Under “Disease Control and Environmental Health Services Division”, add one position of “Substance Abuse Program Manager”.

 

Under “Police Department, Information Technology Division”, delete two positions of “Applications Support Analyst”, delete one position of “Database Administrator”, add two positions of “IT Support Specialist-Senior”, and add one position of “Database Analyst”.

 

Under “Department of Public Works - Operations Division, Sanitation Section”, delete footnote “(A)” in its entirety and replace with the following: 

 

“(A)                      These City Laborer positions in Sanitation Section, Field Operations to remain year-round positions held by the listed incumbents.  Positions to become seasonal when vacant.  Incumbents:  George Finch, Jr, Chris Shiltz, Michael Brahm and James Kendzierski.”

 

Part 2.  Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 160594 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 2017 - January 1, 2017):

 

Under “Department of City Development, General Management and Policy Development Decision Unit, Office of the Commissioner”, delete one position of “Business & Development Liaison”.

 

Under “Commercial Corridor Development”, add one position of “Economic Development Specialist”.

 

Under “Department of Public Works - Water Works, Water Quality Organization”, delete one position of “Water Microbiologist II”, delete ten positions of “Water Chemist II”, add one position of “Water Chemist Project Leader”, add one position of “Water Microbiologist”, and add nine positions of “Water Chemist”.

 

Part 3.  All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

 

Part 4.  The provisions of Part 2 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 2017 (January 1, 2017).

 

The provisions of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after its passage and publication.

 

Part 5.  This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
