This resolution authorizes the Director of the Community Block Grant Administration (CBGA) to enter into a contract with Holy Redeemer Church of God in Christ, Inc., HR Housing, Inc., and HR Housing Project 1 Limited Partnership, relating to the use of Community Development Block Grant funds to finance a portion of the HR Housing Project No. 1, an elderly housing project to be developed at 4875 North 35th Street in the City of Milwaukee.
CBGA was previously authorized to enter to a contract with H.R. Housing, Inc. ("HR HOUSING"), the sponsor of the Project, awarded as of April 8, 1996, Contract No. C173370. The contract authorized by this resolution will permit the City to obtain accurate documentation of the legality, pursuant to HUD regulations, of certain costs incurred in connection with the Project by Holy Redeemer Church of God in Christ, Inc. on behalf of HR Housing, Inc. _____________________________________________
BODY:
Whereas, the Community Block Grant Administration, pursuant to Common Council File No. 961806, has entered into contract with HR Housing, Inc. ("HR Housing"), and CBGA, awarded as of April 8, 1996, Contract No. C173370 (the "CBGA Contract"), relating to the development of an elderly housing project (the "Project) to be located at 4875 North 35th Street in the City of Milwaukee; and
Whereas, Holy Redeemer Church of God in Christ, Inc. ("Holy Redeemer Church") has paid certain costs of the project on behalf of HR Housing, and has represented to the City that such costs would otherwise be eligible for reimbursement with Community Development Block Grant funds pursuant to the CBGA Contract, had such costs been paid directly by HR Housing; and
Whereas, CBGA has requested that Holy Redeemer Church enter into an agreement with the City, HR Housing, and HR Housing Project 1 Limited Partnership, in which Holy Redeemer Church will agree to provide certain documentation relating to the payment of such costs pursuant to the CBGA Contract; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the contract annexed to the file be and hereby is approved and the Block Grant Director of the Community Block Grant Administration be and hereby is authorized to execute same on behalf of the City of Milwaukee.
