Title
Substitute resolution determining it necessary to make various nonassessable public improvements at various locations and appropriating funds for these purposes with the City engineering cost estimated to be $90,000 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $6,135,000.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes engineering studies on projects which by City Charter are nonassessable. After design plans and estimates of costs have been prepared, a resolution authorizing construction will be submitted to the Common Council. The City cost for engineering these projects is estimated to be $90,000 with the total cost estimated to be $6,135,000.

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it is necessary and in the public interest to do the following described improvements according to City specifications:
3rd Aldermanic District
N. Cambridge Ave. - E. Boylston St. to N. Oakland Ave. (SM495070098): Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $359,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2008 construction season.
N. Fratney St. - E. Burleigh St. to E. Chambers St. (SM495070192): Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $10,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $157,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2008 construction season.
4th Aldermanic District
N. Plankinton Ave. - W. St. Paul Ave. to W. Clybourn St. (SM495080006): Relaying combined sewer. The total estimated cost for this project is $178,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2008 construction season.
4th and 12th Aldermanic District
N. Emmber Ln. - W. Canal St. to W. Mt. Vernon Ave. (WT410081201): Water main alteration, and relay. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $1,100,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2008 construction season.
8th Aldermanic District
W. Forest Home Ave. - S. 35th St. to S. 37th St. (WT410091003): Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $250,000 This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2009 construction season.
S. 38th St. - W. Dorothy Pl. to W. Mitchell St. (SM495070203): Storm sewer slip lining. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $20,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $3,709,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2008 construction season.
15th Aldermanic District
W. Brown St. - N. 36th St. to N. 37th St. (SM495070114): Relaying combined sewer. The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $72,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2008 construction season.
N. Teutonia Ave. - A point 75 feet m/l north of W. Center St. to 50 feet m/l east of N. Teutonia Ave. (SW172080102): New sanitary sewer. The total estimated cost for this project is $16,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2008 construction season.
N. 13th St. - A point 125 feet m/l north of W. Center St. to 75 feet m/l northwest of N. 13th St. (SW172080101): New sanitary sewer. The total estimated cost for this project is $20,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2008 construction season.
N. 13th St. - W. Cherry St. to a point 250 feet m/l north of W. Cherry St. (SM495080002): Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $38,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2008 construction season.
N. 37th St. - W. Lisbon Ave. to W. Brown St. (SM495070108): Relaying combined sewer. The total estimated cost for this project is $236,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2008 construction season.

Further Resolved, That all City Departments are authorized to perform engineering, surveys, plan preparation, and determine an estimated cost thereof; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
