Title
Resolution granting the Riverwest Neighborhood Association permission to place benches with integral planters and moveable planters at various locations within its neighborhood within various public rights-of-way in the 3rd Aldermanic District.
Analysis
This resolution permits Riverwest Neighborhood Association to install and maintain benches with integral planters and moveable planters at various locations within the Riverwest Neighborhood in various public rights-of-way subject to review and approval of the Commissioner of Public Works.
Body
Whereas, Riverwest Neighborhood Association is a non-profit association of residents of the Riverwest Neighborhood, working to improve their neighborhood; and
Whereas, Riverwest Neighborhood Association desires to place benches with integral planters and moveable planters at various locations within the Riverwest Neighborhood in order to beautify the neighborhood; and
Whereas, Riverwest Neighborhood Association is willing to maintain any benches and integral planters installed in the public right-of-way; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that Riverwest Neighborhood Association is granted permission to install and maintain benches with integral planters in the public right-of-way within the Riverwest Neighborhood as described below:
1. two adjacent to 2874 North Bremen Street in the south sidewalk area of East Locust Street.
2. one adjacent to 428 East Center Street in the west sidewalk area of North Holton Street
3. one adjacent to 500 East Center Street in the north sidewalk area of East Center Street
4. one adjacent to 801 East Center Street in the south sidewalk area of East Center Street
5. one adjacent to 804 East Center Street in the north sidewalk area of East Center Street
6. one adjacent to 824 East Center Street in the north sidewalk area of East Center Street
7. one adjacent to 826 East Center Street in the north sidewalk area of East Center Street
8. one adjacent to 833 East Center Street in the south sidewalk area of East Center Street
9. one adjacent to 926 East Center Street in the north sidewalk area of East Center Street
10. one adjacent to 801 East Clarke Street in the east sidewalk area of North Fratney Street
11. one adjacent to 2675 North Holton Street in the south sidewalk area of East Center Street
12. one adjacent to 2500 North Dousman Street in the east sidewalk area of North Dousman Street
13. one adjacent to 2500 North Dousman Street in the north sidewalk area of East Wright Street

Further Resolved, That Riverwest Neighborhood Association is granted permission to install and maintain four moveable planters adjacent to 510 East Burleigh Street in the north sidewalk area of East Burleigh Street; and, be it
Further Resolved, That location and method of installation of each item shall be subject to the approval of the Commissioner of Public Works; and, be it
Further Resolved, That Riverwest Neighborhood Association shall obtain all necessary permits for the installation of any item placed in the public right-of-way; and, be it
Further Resolved, That Riverwest Neighborhood Association shall keep and maintain the benches with planters to the satisfaction of the Commissioner of Public Works; and, be it
Further Resolved, That whenever permission for the signs is discontinued for any reason whatsoever, including public necessity whenever so ordered by resolution adopted by the Common Council, Riverwest Neighborhood Association shall not only remove all benches and planters, but shall also restore to its former condition and to the approval of the Commissioner of Public Works the curb, pavement or other public improvement which was removed, changed or disturbed by reason of the granting permission for said benches and planters. Such grantee shall be entitled to no damages due to the alteration and/or removal for such purposes.
