Analysis
This resolution amends a lease agreement with Verizon Wireless for the placement of personal communications services antennas at the Milwaukee Fire Department facility located at 5600 West Oklahoma which was authorized by Common Council Resolution File Number 001489 as adopted on February 27, 2001, and amended by Common Council Resolution File Numbers 121126, 180548, 191860, 201684, and 230832.

Whereas, The Common Council adopted Resolution File Number 001489 on February 27, 2001 approving a lease agreement with Verizon Wireless for the placement of personal communications services antennas at the Milwaukee Fire Department facility located at 5600 West Oklahoma Avenue; and
Whereas, The Common Council adopted Resolution File Number 121126 on December 18, 2012 approving a first amendment to the lease agreement; and
Whereas, The Common Council adopted Resolution File Number 180548 on July 31, 2018 approving a second amendment to the lease agreement; and
Whereas, The Common Council adopted Resolution File Number 191860 on March 24, 2020 approving a third amendment to the lease agreement; and
Whereas, The Common Council adopted Resolution File Number 201684 on May 4, 2021 approving a fourth amendment to the lease agreement; and
Whereas, The Common Council adopted Resolution File Number 230832 on October 31, 2023 approving a fifth amendment to the lease agreement; and
Whereas, The Department of Administration, working with the City Attorney's Office, has negotiated a sixth amendment to the lease agreement; and
Whereas, This amendment of the lease agreement between the City and Verizon Wireless for the placement of personal communications services antennas at the fire station located at 5600 West Oklahoma, extends the term of the lease until January 31, 2032 and provides Verizon Wireless four (4) additional optional five (5) year renewal terms; and
Whereas, The lease agreement offers a fair market value to the City, protects other City interests, and is acceptable to all City participants; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Common Council approves and amends the lease agreement, identified as the "Sixth Amendment to Lease Agreement," between the City of Milwaukee and Cellco Partnership d/b/a Verizon Wireless for the placement of personal communications services antennas at the fire station located at 5600 West Oklahoma; and, be it
Further Resolved, the Common Council authorizes the proper City officials to enter into this lease amendment on behalf of the City of Milwaukee, in substantially the same form as attached to this file.
