Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a revised project agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the programming, design and installation of mast arm mounted traffic signals at three intersections, with State and Federal aid under the Highway Safety Improvement Program.  The estimated total cost of the project is $403,075, which is an increase in construction cost of $60,800, of which the City's share is $6,080 and the Grantor's share is $54,720.  

Body

Whereas, A project agreement has been executed by the Wisconsin Department of Transportation and the City of Milwaukee for the installation of mast arm mounted traffic signals at three intersections using State and Federal Aid under the Highway Safety Improvement Program, in accordance with the Common Council Resolution File Number 120993, adopted November 27, 2012; and

Whereas, As part of the preliminary engineering process, construction costs have been refined and increased since the original agreement was signed in 2013; and

Whereas, The project is currently scheduled for construction in 2015 and construction funds for the project will be requested in a separate resolution; and

Whereas, A revised project agreement indicating updated construction costs has been received from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute the Revised Project Agreement for the installation of mast arm mounted traffic signals at three intersections updating construction costs; and, be it

Further Resolved, A copy of the revised project agreement is attached to this resolution file by reference as though set forth in full.
