Substitute ordinance to further amend the 1999 rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service under control of the Common Council.
BODY:
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Section 2 of ordinance File Number 980576 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:
Under Salary Grade 004, add the title "Health Insurance Specialist 6/" with footnote "6/" to read as follows: "6/ Appointment shall be up to the fourth step at the discretion of the Commissioner of Health."
Part 2. Section 3 of ordinance File Number 980576 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:
Under Pay Range 220, add the footnote designation "5/" following the title "Garage Attendant" and add the following footnote to read: "5/ Effective Pay Period 1, 1999, Donald Shuda shall be paid the biweekly rate of $1,143.92. He shall be frozen at this 1998 rate until such time that this biweekly rate would be less than the maximum rate of the Garage Attendant position. At that time, he shall be paid at the maximum rate of the Garage Attendant position."
Part 3. Section 6 of ordinance File Number 980576 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:
Create Pay Range 478 as follows:

$1,262.84 1,334.07 1,387.91 1,441.47
Police Dispatcher."
Part 4. Section 8 of ordinance File Number 980576 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:
Under Pay Range 596, add the title "Network Analyst-Assistant."
Part 5. Section 18 of ordinance File Number 980576 relative to rates of pay of offices and position in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:
Under Pay Range 804, create the footnote designation "1/" next to the title "Police Alarm Operator" and add a footnote reading: "1/ Positions occupied by Police Alarm Operators to be reclassified to Police Dispatcher upon becoming vacant."
Part 6. Section 19 of ordinance File Number 980576 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:
Under Pay Range 836, delete the title "Police Health and Safety Coordinator" and add the title "Administrative Lieutenant of Police (Health and Safety) 1/."
Part 7. Section 5 of ordinance File Number 980576 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 5, 1999 - February 21, 1999):
Under Pay Range 440, delete the title and accompanying footnote "Lead Police Telecommunicator 4/" and create Pay Range 441 as follows:

Part 8. All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Part 9. The provisions of Part 6 of this ordinance are in force from and after Pay Period 5, 1999 (February 21, 1999).
The provisions of all other parts of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after the first day of the first pay period following passage and publication.
Part 10. This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
