Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to execute an agreement with the City of Wauwatosa to share the design engineering and construction costs to reconstruct the West Capitol Drive Bridge over the Little Menomonee River and authorizes the City Engineer to execute Right-of-Way documents necessary for the reconstruction of the bridge.

Body

Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted resolution file numbers 110920 and 061548, directing the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a State Municipal Agreement with the Wisconsin Department of Transportation for the replacement of the West Capitol Drive Bridge over the Little Menomonee River with Federal and State Aid under the State Trunk Highway Program, and

Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted resolution file number 100328, directing the Commissioner of Public Works to negotiate and enter into a cost-sharing agreement with the City of Wauwatosa for the Capitol Drive Street project, from North 60^th Street to Mayfair Road, and

Whereas, The West Capitol Drive Bridge Project located adjacent to West Grantosa Drive will be constructed in conjunction with the West Capitol Drive Street Project, and

Whereas, The southern half of the West Capitol Drive Bridge over Little Menomonee River is in the City of Wauwatosa, therefore, be it

Resolved, That the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized to enter into a cost-sharing agreement with the City of Wauwatosa for its estimated share of preliminary engineering and construction cost for the reconstruction of the West Capitol Drive Bridge over the Little Menomonee River.

Further Resolved, That the City Engineer is authorized to execute the Relocation Order, Permanent and Temporary Limited easements, and other documents required by the Right-of-Way process for West Capitol Drive Bridge over the Little Menomonee River, for lands needed by the City for easements to construct a multi-use path under the bridge and maintain bridge retaining walls and roadway slopes.
