Title
Resolution authorizing the naming of South Rite-Hite Way as a private road, located in the 12th Aldermanic District.
Analysis
To support the development of downtown offices for the Rite-Hite Corporation, the property owner has requested that the City designate a portion of their property on both sides of the 400 block of West Freshwater Way as a private road. With South Rite-Hite Way designated as a private road, building addresses may be assigned to this, which also supports emergency response agencies.
Body
Whereas, the Rite-Hite Corporation are building office buildings and a parking structure along the 400 block of West Freshwater Way and desire a private road to access this development; and
Whereas, By the City formally designating South Rite-Hite Way, building addresses can be assigned to support mail delivery and emergency service responses; and
Whereas, Section 113-1 of the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances provides for naming private roads and the developer has provided a legal description of the limits of the private road; and
Whereas, As a condition of adopting this resolution, the developer is responsible for placing brown street name signs in accord with s. 113-1 at the developer's cost, as well as placing and maintaining traffic control devices as necessary to control vehicular traffic leaving the site; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the following private road shall be described as follows:
South Rite-Hite Way (Private Road)
LEGAL DESCRIPTION
That part of Lot 1 of Certified Survey Map No. 9271, recorded as Document No. 11041529, in the Northwest 1/4 of the Northeast 1/4 of Section 32, Town 7 North, Range 22 East, in the City of Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, bounded and described as follows:
Commencing at the southeast corner of said Lot 1 of Certified Survey Map No. 9271;
Thence South 72⁰43'09" West, 33.05 feet along the southeasterly line of said Lot 1 to the point of beginning;
Continue thence South 72⁰43'09" West, 26.50 feet;
Thence North 17⁰16'51" West, 15.94 feet;
Thence North 72⁰43'09" East, 26.50 feet;
Thence South 17⁰16'51" East, 15.94 feet to the point of beginning.
Said easement contains 422 square feet of land, more or less.

That part of Lot 3 of Certified Survey Map No. 9271, recorded as Document No. 11041529, in the Northwest 1/4 of the Northeast 1/4 of Section 32, Town 7 North, Range 22 East, in the City of Milwaukee, Milwaukee County, Wisconsin, bounded and described as follows:
Commencing at the northwest corner of said Lot 3 of Certified Survey Map No. 9271;
Thence North 72⁰43'09" East, 14.12 feet along the northwesterly line of said Lot 3 to the point of beginning;
Continue thence North 72⁰43'09" East, 25.00 feet;
Thence South 17⁰16'51" East, 15.04 feet;
Thence South 72⁰43'09" West, 25.00 feet;
Thence North 17⁰16'51" West, 15.04 feet to the point of beginning.
Said easement contains 376 square feet of land, more or less.
Further Resolved, That City departments are authorized to enter South Rite-Hite Way in their databases and on City maps as a private road.
