Title

Resolution amending the Year One and Year Two Operating Plans for Neighborhood Improvement District No. 1, Brewery, in the 4th Aldermanic District.

Analysis

This resolution amends the Year One and Year Two Operating Plans for Neighborhood Improvement District No. 1, Brewery, and pursuant to State Statutes, authorizes the taking of title to the parcel known as Zilber Park’s with the legal description of Lot 2 of CSM No. 8078, Tax Key No. 362-0502-000 and the address of 1217 North 10th Street. The purpose of NID No. 1’s ownership is to operate and maintain an improved pocket park for the benefit of the neighborhood. If NID No. 1 is terminated, this real property will be transferred to the Brewery Project LLC, which has agreed to assume this responsibility.

Body

Whereas, A Neighborhood Improvement District (“NID”), as authorized by Section 66.1110, Wisconsin Statutes, provides a financing method to allow the Brewery neighborhood district to become self-sustaining; and

 

Whereas, On October 29, 2008, the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted File No. 080615, which created NID No. 1, Brewery, and approved its Initial Operating Plan; and

 

Whereas, The Brewery neighborhood district is a vital and integral part of the City of Milwaukee; and

 

Whereas, The Initial (Year One) Operating Plan has been amended, a copy of which is attached to this Common Council File, which speaks to the acquisition of the parcel located at 1217 North 10th Street and describes proposed activities within the NID and acts in accordance with applicable Wisconsin Statutes; and

 

Whereas, On November 3, 2009, the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted File No. 090669, which approved the Year Two Operating Plan; and

 

Whereas, The Year Two Operating Plan has been amended, a copy of which is attached to this Common Council File, which again speaks to the parcel located at 1217 North 10th Street; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the amended Year One and Year Two Operating Plans for NID No. 1 are adopted; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That all City officials, departments, boards and commissions are directed to take all actions and provide such assistance, as needed, to carry out the intent and purpose of this resolution and the amended Year One and Year Two Operating Plans for NID No. 1.
