Title
A substitute ordinance to further amend the 2024 rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service.
Analysis
This substitute ordinance changes the rates of pay in the following departments:
Department of Administration (Office of the Director), Department of Emergency Communications, Fire Department, Department of Neighborhood Services, Department of Public Works - Operations Division (Fleet Services Division), Department of Public Works - Infrastructure Services Division (Transportation Operations Decision Unit)
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
Part 1. Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 230639 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:
Under Pay Range 1GX, delete the title of “Operations Manager - Development Center”.
Under Pay Range 1KX, add the title of “Fire Fleet Repair Manager (8)”.
Part 2. Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 230639 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 26, 2023 - December 10, 2023):
Under Pay Range 1LX, delete the title of “Emergency Communications Deputy Director (1)”.
Under Pay Range 1MX, add the title of “Emergency Communications Deputy Director (7)”.
Under Pay Range 1NX, delete the title of “Emergency Communications Director (1)”.
Under Pay Range 1OX, add the title of “Emergency Communications Director (5)” and add new footnote (5) to read:
“(5) Recruitment is at:
Biweekly 5,315.12
Annual 138,193.12”
Part 3. Part 1, Section 1 of ordinance File Number 230639 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 1, 2024 - December 24, 2023):
Under Pay Range 1MX, add the title of “Innovation Director”.
Under Pay Range 1OX, add the title of “Administration Deputy Director”.
Part 4. Part 1, Section 7 of ordinance File Number 230639 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:
Under Pay Range 7BN, add footnote designations (7) and (8) to the title of “Tire Repair Worker (2)” and add new footnotes (7) and (8) to read:
“(7) Employees will receive an additional 3% incentive for special assignments.”
“(8) Employees will receive an additional 5% incentive for lead work.”
Part 5. Part 1, Section 8 of ordinance File Number 230639 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:
Under Pay Range 8CN, amend the title “Electrical Services Laborer” to read “Electrical Services Laborer 1”.
Part 6. Part 2, Section 5 of ordinance File Number 230639 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:
Under Section 5: Promotions and Special Pay Practices, A., replace the table within paragraph A. with the table attached to the file entitled “Promotions and Special Pay Practices, A., Table”.
Part 7. All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.
Part 8. The provisions of Part 2 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 26, 2023 (December 10, 2023).
Part 9. The provisions of Part 3 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 1, 2024 (December 24, 2023).
The provisions of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after its passage and publication.
Part 10. This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
