Substitute ordinance to further amend the 1998 rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service under control of the Common Council.

BODY:

The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:

Part 1. Section 2 of ordinance File Number 970830 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:

Under Salary Grade 004, add the title "Health Project Coordinator (FIMR)."

Part 2. Section 3 of ordinance File Number 970830 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:

Delete Pay Range 263 in its entirety.

Part 3. Section 4 of ordinance File Number 970830 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:

Under Pay Range 305, add the title "Public Health Aide-      Tuberculosis Control."

Part 4. Section 8 of ordinance File Number 970830 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:

Create a new Pay Range 599 as follows:

"Pay Range 599

Official Rate-Biweekly

$1,735.91 1,806.91 1,876.27 1,925.86

$2,039.07 2,148.25 2,234.18

Facilities Control Specialist 1/

1/ Recruitment may be up to the fifth step of the pay range. Position shall be studied upon vacancy."

Part 5. Section 2 of ordinance File Number 970830 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby further amended as follows (Effective Pay Period 16, 1998 - July 26, 1998):

Under Salary Grade 009, delete the title "Grant Monitor Manager."

Under Salary Grade 011, add the title "Associate Director."

Part 6. Part II, Section 2 of ordinance File Number 970830 relative to rates of pay of offices and positions in the City Service is hereby amended as follows:

In the paragraph entitled "Promotion or Reallocation Pay Increases", delete the wording "$5.00 biweekly ($10 biweekly for employees represented by District Council 48 and nonmanagement, nonrepresented employees)" wherever it appears and substitute "$10.00 biweekly (except for those bargaining units that still have a minimum of $5.00 biweekly)."

Part 7. All ordinances or parts of ordinances contravening the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed.

Part 8. The provisions of Part 5 of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after Pay Period 16, 1998 (July 26, 1998).

The provisions of all other parts of this ordinance are deemed to be in force and effect from and after the first day of the first pay period following passage and publication.

Part 9. This ordinance will take effect and be in force from and after its passage and publication.
