Substitute resolution determining it necessary to make various nonassessable public improvements at various locations and appropriating funds for these purposes with the City engineering cost estimated to be $219,000 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $12,987,000.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes engineering studies on projects which by City Charter are nonassessable. After design plans and estimates of costs have been prepared, a resolution authorizing construction will be submitted to the Common Council. The City cost for engineering these projects is estimated to be $219,000 with the total cost estimated to be $12,987,000.

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it is necessary and in the public interest to do the following described improvements according to City specifications:
3rd Aldermanic District
E. Chambers St. - N. Bremen St. to 125 feet m/l east of N. Weil St. (SM495110016): Combined sewer lining. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $112,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2012 construction season.
5th Aldermanic District
Lateral Lining and Foundation Drain Disconnection/ABB (#3) (SM494110103): Sanitary sewer lining. (Infiltration/Inflow Reduction Fund -- $1,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $9,000,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2011 construction season.

N. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Dr. - W. Keefe Ave. to N. Port Washington Ave. (SM495110026): Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000). S. 56th St. - W. Forest Home Ave. to W. Howard Ave. (WT410110708): Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 5010 -- $12,000; Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $13,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $360,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2012 construction season.

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
