Title

Resolution authorizing the Commissioner of Public Works to execute an Amendment to the Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement between the City of Milwaukee and the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District regarding the Kinnickinnic River Flood Management Project for an area abutting the Kinnickinnic River between South 6th and South 16th Streets, in the 12th and 14th Aldermanic Districts.

Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to execute of an Amendment to the Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement between the City of Milwaukee and the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District regarding the Kinnickinnic River Flood Management Project for an area abutting the Kinnickinnic River between South 6th and South 16th Streets, in the 12th and 14th Aldermanic Districts.

Body

Whereas, Common Council File No 190537 authorized the City to enter into an agreement with the Milwaukee Metropolitan Sewerage District (MMSD) for the reconstruction of City-owned bridges, modifications to City-owned sewers, and modification to City-owned water mains along the Kinnickinnic River between South 6th Street and South 16th Street.; and

 

Whereas, Common Council File No 191380 authorized the Sewer Maintenance fund to setup grantor share funding in SM320200100 in order to fund a contract for a combined sewer relocation; and

 

Whereas, The total cost of the sewer relocation project is revised from $2,400,000 to $2,750,000 with $2,750,000 to be funded by grantor share; and

 

Whereas, MMSD has prepared an amendment to said agreement that it will provide a total of $2,750,000 in grantor funds; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, That the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized to accept and execute of an Amendment to the Intergovernmental Cooperation Agreement in accordance with Milwaukee Code of Ordinances 304-81, and to execute the amendment in the form submitted to this file, or in substantial conformity thereto; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That upon approval of the change order to said Agreement, the City Comptroller is authorized to create within the Capital Grant and Aid Projects Fund the appropriate Project/Grant Chartfield Value for this project, and transfer to these accounts the amount required under the agreement and City accounting policy, but not to exceed a ten percent increase of the total amounts reserved for the grantor’s share and local share or $5,000, whichever is greater, as follows:

Whereas, The District and the City are each responsible for funding the respective improvements described in this Agreement; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That any expenditure of City funds that may be necessary as a result of the City signing the Agreement will be brought forth for Common Council consideration and approval.
