Minutes note: Warren Jones, Travaux, Inc.’s, Vice President of Construction, stated that staff is recommending awarding B V Tetzlaff Inc. (Brookfield, WI) the contract for plumbing at Westlawn Gardens Phase 2 site. Mr. Jones also stated that B V Tetlaff has done similar work in the past to satisfaction. Mr. Jones noted that B V Tetzlaff Inc. was under the estimated budget cost by almost $37,000. B V Tetzlaff Inc. is a certified Women Business Enterprise with the State of Wisconsin and has not identified a need to subcontract or hire at this time. Body

WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the City of Milwaukee (Housing Authority) solicited sealed bids by Official Notice Number 58126 during the period January 26, 2024 through February 23, 2024 for Plumbing for Single-Family Market-Rate Townhomes Phase 5C-1 at Westlawn Gardens Phase 2; and

 

WHEREAS, one (1) sealed bid was received by the deadline of 2:00 (CST) on February 23, 2024; and

 

WHEREAS, the sealed bid was received and publicly opened on February 23, 2024, during which the bidding procedure was conducted in compliance with the requirements of local, state, and federal regulations; and

 

WHEREAS, B V Tetzlaff Inc., a qualified and competent bidder, submitted the lowest responsive and responsible bid in the amount of $327,140.00; therefore, be it,

 

RESOLVED, by the Commissioners of the Housing Authority that they hereby authorize and approve accepting the bid of and entering into a contract with B V Tetzlaff Inc. for Plumbing for Single-Family Market-Rate Townhomes Phase 5C-1 at Westlawn Gardens Phase 2; and, be it

 

FURTHER RESOLVED, that funds for these services will come from the State of Wisconsin American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) and Housing Authority Non-Federal sources; and, be it

 

FURTHER RESOLVED, that the proper officers of the Housing Authority be and hereby are authorized and directed to properly execute said contract for and on behalf of the Housing Authority; and, be it

 

FURTHER RESOLVED, that if any change orders including the time of performance are needed, the Chairman and Secretary-Executive Director may approve such request without any further action of the Commissioners of the Housing Authority; and, be it

 

FURTHER RESOLVED, that all of above is contingent upon receiving the approval of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, if required; and, be it

 

FURTHER RESOLVED, that all acts previously performed relative to this matter by the Commissioners and the Secretary-Executive Director of the Housing Authority be and hereby are approved, ratified, and confirmed in all respects.
