Title
Resolution granting the Layton Boulevard West Neighbors Inc permission to place a monument sign within a median of South Layton Boulevard in the 8th Aldermanic District in the City of Milwaukee.
Analysis
This resolution permits Layton Boulevard West Neighbors, Inc. to install and maintain a monument sign in a median within the public right-of-way of South Layton Boulevard subject to review and approval of the Commissioner of Public Works.
Body
Whereas, Layton Boulevard West Neighbors Inc is a non-profit association of residents of the Historic Layton Boulevard Neighborhood, working to improve their neighborhood; and
Whereas, Layton Boulevard West Neighbors Inc desires to place a monument sign to help identify the neighborhood; and
Whereas, Layton Boulevard West Neighbors, Inc. is willing to maintain said monument sign; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, Layton Boulevard West Neighbors, Inc. is granted permission to install and maintain a monument sign in the public right-of-way of South Layton Boulevard; and, be it
Further Resolved, That Layton Boulevard West Neighbors Inc is hereby granted permission for the following:
To keep and maintain a 5-foot tall monument sign in the 14-foot wide median of South Layton Boulevard centered approximately 220 feet north of the northline of West Becher Street. The sign will be constructed of masonry and will be 4 feet wide and 2 feet 6 inches thick. Said monument sign will be constructed atop an existing concrete foundation.

Further Resolved, That Layton Boulevard West Neighbors, Inc. shall obtain all necessary permits for the installation of said sign in the public right-of-way; and, be it
Further Resolved, That Layton Boulevard West Neighbors, Inc. shall keep and maintain the signs to the satisfaction of the Commissioner of Public Works; and, be it
Further Resolved, That whenever permission for the monument sign is discontinued for any reason whatsoever, including public necessity whenever so ordered by resolution adopted by the Common Council, Layton Boulevard West Neighbors Inc shall not only remove said monument sign, but shall also restore to its former condition and to the approval of the Commissioner of Public Works any curb, pavement or other public improvement which was removed, changed or disturbed by reason of the granting permission for said sign. Such grantee shall be entitled to no damages due to the alteration and/or removal for such purposes.
