Analysis
This ordinance revises various provisions of the code for purposes of correcting errors, clarifying language and eliminating obsolete provisions.
Body
The Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee do ordain as follows:
 
Part 1.  Section 84-5-1-fg of the code is created to read:
 
84-5. Discrimination by License Holders.
 
1.  DISCRIMINATION PROHIBITION.
 
fg. Class "B" tavern.
 
Part 2.  Section 101-20.5-1-b-5 of the code is amended to read:
 
101-20.5.  Cruising Prohibited.
 
1.  DEFINITIONS.  b-5.  All of that portion of >>East and<< West Capitol Drive bounded by the Milwaukee River on the east and North 92nd Street on the west.
 
Part 3.  Section 223-5-1-a and b of the code is amended to read:
 
223-5.  Definitions.
 
1.  AUTHORIZED INSPECTION AGENCY means:
 
a.  An inspection agency as outlined in ANSI/NB23 and whose inspectors hold a valid [[credential]] >>certificate<< as issued by the state of Wisconsin in accordance with s. Comm 5.60, Wis. Adm. Code, as amended; or
 
b.  An individual who holds a valid [[credential]] >>certificate<< as issued by the state of Wisconsin in accordance with s. Comm 5.60, Wis. Adm. Code, as amended, and who provides the department annually with proof of general liability and property damage insurance in the sum of $1,000,000 with the city of Milwaukee as an additional insured, and continuing education and training as outlined in the ANSI/ASME N-626 series code.
 
Part 4.  Section 236-31-2-e-0 of the code is amended to read:
 
236-31.  Fireworks.
 
2.  PYROTECHNIC DISPLAYS, BLANK CARTRIDGES, FLARES PERMITTED.
 
e.  The use of fireworks for pyrotechnic displays held in conjunction with events at [[Milwaukee county stadium]] >>Miller Park<< under permit granted by the department, provided that no fireworks shall be discharged:
 
Part 5.  Section 295-95-2-c-1 of the code is amended to read:
 
295-95.  Off Premise Signs.
2.  STANDARDS.
c.  Minimum Distance Between Signs.  c-1. The minimum distance between any 2 off-premise ground or roof signs shall be 500 feet.  The minimum distance between an off-premise ground or roof sign and an off-premise wall >>sign<< shall be 200 feet.  The minimum distance between any off-premise wall >>sign<< and any other off-premise wall >>sign<< shall be 200 feet.
 
Part 6.  Section 320-12-2-j of the code is repealed.
(Note: the provisions being repealed read as follows:
 
320-12.  Arts Board.
 
2. DUTIES AND POWERS.
 
j.  Have one member, designated by the chair of the board, who serves on the Cultural, Artistic and Musical Programming Advisory Council.)
 
Part 7.  Section 320-31-2-b-0 and c of the code is amended to read:
 
320-31.  Information Policy Committee.
 
2.      POWERS AND DUTIES
 
b.  Formulate public policy >>and<< guidelines concerning electronic
information that deal with its access, use, documentation, integration, sale, distribution, security and related issues, and that specifically address the following matters:
 
c.  Formulate public policy >>and<< guidelines for electronic access by private, public and corporate citizens to city records that recognize the competing issues involved in such access, including issues of public information and open records, copyright, equal access, online services provided by private companies, sale of government information, concerns of citizens and other governmental bodies, and other public policy considerations.
 
Part 8.  Section 350-40-3-a-1-c of the code is amended to read:
350-40.  Vacations.
3.  TIME EARNED FOR ANNUAL VACATION PERIOD.
a-1-c.  6.8 hours per pay period for employes who have completed at least 11 years but less than 17 years of active service.  Effective pay period one, 2001, employes who have completed at least 9 years but less than 16 years of active service shall earn 6.8 hours per pay period.  >>Effective pay period one, 2002, employes who have completed at least 9 years but less than 14 years of active service shall earn 6.8 hours per pay period.<<
