Title
Substitute Resolution relative to acceptance and funding of a Learning for All - Service to Youth with Learning Disabilities Grant.
Analysis
This substitute resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Public Library to accept and fund a Learning for All - Service to Youth with Learning Disabilities Grant from the State of Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction in the amount of $24,696 with a city share of $3,566 and a grantor share of $21,130. The purpose of the project is to enable Milwaukee Public Library to increase and improve public library service to Milwaukee children with learning disabilities.
Body
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the State of Wisconsin for the purpose of improving public library service to Milwaukee children with learning disabilities; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant from 01/30/02 to 12/31/02 would cost $24,696 of which $3,566 (14%) would be provided by the city and $21,130 (86%) would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Milwaukee Public Library shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2002 Special Revenue--Grant and Aid Projects, the following amounts for the project titled "Learning for All - Service to Youth with Learning Disabilities Grant:"

2. Create the necessary Special Revenue Fund - Grant and Aid Project/Grant and Project Level values; budget to these Project/Grant values the amount required under the grant agreement;
3. Establish the necessary City Share Project values; and, be it
Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted for Milwaukee Public Library which is authorized to:
1. Expend from the amount budgeted for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date;
2. Expend from the 2002 grant budget funds for specific items of equipment.
