Title
Resolution rescinding various special privileges that are no longer necessary.
Analysis
This resolution rescinds various special privileges granting permission for items to encroach into the public right-of-way because said items have been removed from the public right-of-way or are now permitted by the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances.
Body
Whereas, Said special privileges granted permission for various encroachments in the public right-of-way; and
Whereas, The special privileges listed below are no longer necessary because the subject items have be removed from the public right-of-way by the owner or are now permitted by the Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and
Whereas, Property owners notified the Department of Public Works that they no longer need the special privilege granted them because the items had been removed from the public right-of-way; and
Whereas, The Milwaukee Code of Ordinances has been amended to allow some additional encroachments into the public right-of-way; and
Whereas, In order to release property owners from the insurance and annual special privilege fee requirements placed on the property owner as part of the granting of a special privilege, the Common Council needs to pass a resolution rescinding special privileges which are no longer needed; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the following special privilege resolutions are hereby rescinded:
1. Common Council Resolution File Numbers 47-465 and 47-465-a granted to Jos. Schlitz Brewing Company for two underground tunnels crossing under North 2nd Street between West Cherry Street and West Pleasant Street, which is now vacated, for the premises at 1542 North 2nd Street.
2. Common Council Resolution File Number 52-1744-A granted to Harry Hack and Sidney Hack for backup driveways for the premises at 333 North Plankinton Avenue.
3. Common Council Resolution File Number 56-2205 granted to Bessie & Theodore Poulos for concrete steps and retaining wall for the premises at 3470 North 84th Street.
4. Common Council Resolution File Numbers 63-3389, 66400, 66400a, 66400b, 66400c, 66400d and 66400 e granted to Ralph E. Willis 1947 Trust for back-up driveways for the premises at 103-33 West Oregon Street.
5. Common Council Resolution File Number 65-405C granted to East Town Association for private gas street lamps and planters for various downtown locations.
