Title

Resolution relative to application, acceptance and funding of the Hepatitis B Immunization Grant. (Health Department)

 

Analysis

This resolution authorizes the Health Department to apply for, accept and fund the Hepatitis B Immunization Grant project from the State of Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services in the amount of $38,000.  The purpose of the project is to initiate and complete the Hepatitis B vaccine series in high-risk infants.

 

BODY:

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the State of Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services to initiate and complete the Hepatitis B vaccine series in high-risk infants; and

 

Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 01/01/02 to 12/31/02 would cost $38,000 entirely provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the Wisconsin Division of Health and Family Services is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:

 

1.  Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2002 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects, the following amounts for the project titled Hepatitis B Immunization Grant:

2.  Create the necessary Grant and Aid Project/Grant and Project/Grant Levels; budget against these Project/Grant values the amount required under the grant agreement; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted to the Health Department which is authorized to:

 

Expend from the amount budgeted sums for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date.
