Title
Substitute resolution approving construction of nonassessable public improvement projects at various locations.
Analysis
This resolution directs the installation and construction of certain public improvements which have been determined to be nonassessable by the Commissioner of Public Works.
Body
Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted preliminary resolutions determining it necessary and in the public interest to construct nonassessable improvements; and
Whereas, Plans, specifications and cost estimates have been prepared for the following described improvements:
3rd Aldermanic District
N. Farwell Ave. (STH 32) Bridge over the Milwaukee County Bike Trail (ST320030501/BR320030501) (2225-12-70 ) File Number 021578: Asphalt pavement resurfacing, replace concrete curb and gutter and sidewalk where needed, sodding, and grading. Concrete redecking, structure repair, and painting. (State or Federal Funds -- $26,000; Non-assessable State Aid Fund -- $1000; State/ Federal Grantor Paving Fund -- $4000; State or Federal Structure Funds -- $450,000; State/ Federal Grantor Structure Fund -- $66,000). These funds are to be transferred to the construction accounts ST320030210 and BR320030510.

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to proceed with said work; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Engineer and the Commissioner of Public Works are hereby authorized to negotiate and enter into an agreement with the State of Wisconsin, Department of Transportation for the City to undertake construction management duties on the following project: N. Farwell Ave. (STH 32) Bridge over the Milwaukee County Bike Trail (ST320030501/BR320030501) (2225-12-70); and, be it
Further Resolved, that the City Engineer is authorized and directed to approve and make periodic payments to the State of Wisconsin, Department of Transportation after receipt of invoices from said State for the City's share of the costs for said project: N. Farwell Ave. (STH 32) Bridge over the Milwaukee County Bike Trail (ST320030501/BR320030501) (2225-12-70); and, be it
Further Resolved, That upon the completion of project N. Farwell Ave. (STH 32) Bridge over the Milwaukee County Bike Trail (ST320030501/BR320030501) (2225-12-70) and a determination of the actual costs, it is understood that if the City of Milwaukee's share is less than the amount previously paid, the difference will be refunded to said City.
