Resolution granting Hartford University School for Urban Explorations permission to install ceramic tiles in the tree box outs on North Maryland Avenue adjacent to the premises at 2227 East Hartford Avenue in the 3rd Aldermanic District.
Analysis
This resolution grants Hartford University School for Urban Explorations, a Milwaukee Public School, permission to install and maintain ceramic tiles to be embedded in concrete sidewalk within the tree box outs adjacent to the school at 2227 East Hartford Avenue subject to review and approval of the Commissioner of Public Works.
Body
Whereas, Hartford University School for Urban Explorations is a Milwaukee Public School; and
Whereas, There are eight tree box outs adjacent to the school building in the east sidewalk area of North Maryland Avenue, which measure 11 feet 8 inches long and 9 feet 4 inches wide; and
Whereas, Hartford University School for Urban Explorations would like to install a 2-foot wide border around each of the tree box outs consisting of ceramic tiles, to be created by the school’s students, embedded in 5-inch thick concrete, in order to beautify the tree box outs which currently are filled with bare dirt; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that Hartford University School for Urban Explorations is granted permission to install and maintain ceramic tiles embedded in concrete within the tree box outs abutting the school building in North Maryland Avenue; and, be it
Further Resolved, That Hartford University School for Urban Explorations shall obtain all necessary permits for the installation of any ceramic tiles placed in the public right-of-way; and, be it
Further Resolved, That Hartford University School for Urban Explorations shall keep and maintain the ceramic tiles in concrete walk to the satisfaction of the Commissioner of Public Works; and, be it
Further Resolved, That whenever permission for the tiles is discontinued for any reason whatsoever, including public necessity whenever so ordered by resolution adopted by the Common Council, Hartford University School for Urban Explorations shall not only remove all tiles, but shall also restore to its former condition and to the approval of the Commissioner of Public Works the curb, pavement or other public improvement which was removed, changed or disturbed by reason of the granting permission for said tiles. Such grantee shall be entitled to no damages due to the alteration and/or removal for such purposes; and, be it
Further Resolved, That said tiles shall have a non-slippery surface.
