Title
Resolution relative to acceptance and funding of the Coordinated Community Response Grant. (Health Department)
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Health Department to accept and fund the Coordinated Community Response Grant project from the U.S. Department of Justice, Violence Against Women Grants Office through the State of Wisconsin Office of Justice Assistance in the amount of $84,498 with a city share of $16,900 and a grantor share of $67,598. The purpose of the project is to enhance and expand the coordinated community response coordinated by the City of Milwaukees Commission on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from the U.S. Department of Justice, Violence Against Women Grants Office through the State of Wisconsin Office of Justice Assistance for enhancing and expanding the coordinated community response; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant project from 07/01/02 to 06/30/03 would cost $84,498 of which $16,900 (20%) would be provided by the city and $67,598 (80%) would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that application to the State of Wisconsin Office of Justice Assistance is authorized and the Health Department shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant parent account of the 2002 Special Revenue Accounts-Grant and Aid Projects, the following amounts for the project titled Coordinated Community Response:

2. Create the necessary Special Revenue Fund - Grant and Aid Project/Grant and Project Level Values; budget to these Project/Grant values the amount required under the grant agreement;
3. Establish the necessary City Share Project Values; and, be it
Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted to the Health Department which is authorized to:
1. Expend from the amount appropriated sums for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date;
2. Enter into subcontracts and leases as detailed in the grant budget;
3. Expend from the 2002 grant budget funds for training and out-of-town travel by department staff.
