Substitute resolution determining it necessary to make various nonassessable public improvements at various locations and appropriating funds for these purposes with the City engineering cost estimated to be $184,000 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $2,103,000.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes engineering studies on projects which by City Charter are nonassessable. After design plans and estimates of costs have been prepared, a resolution authorizing construction will be submitted to the Common Council. The City cost for engineering these projects is estimated to be $184,000 with the total cost estimated to be $2,103,000.

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it is necessary and in the public interest to do the following described improvements according to City specifications:
2nd Aldermanic District
W. Thurston Ave. - N. 94th St. to N. 97th St. (ST211130200): Pedestrian walkway. Laying concrete walk. Doing all necessary grading pertaining to said work. (Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $5,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $20,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2013 construction season.
3rd Aldermanic District
N. Maryland Ave. - E. Kenwood Blvd. to E. Hartford Ave. (SM495130048): Combined sewer lining. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $144,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2014 construction season.

E. Locust St. - N. Holton St. to N. Pierce St. (SM495130046): Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $235,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2014 construction season.
N. 18th St. - 125 feet m/l north of W. Chambers St. to W. Hopkins St. (SM495130047): Relaying combined sewer. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $61,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2014 construction season.

N. 56th St. - W. Parkway Dr. to 155 feet m/l south of W. Hampton Ave. (SM495130044): Sanitary Sewer lining. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $12,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $69,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2014 construction season.

S. 19th St. - W. Burnham St. to W. Mitchell St. (SM495130036): Combined large diameter sewer lining. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $229,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2013 construction season.

S. 95th St. - W. Beloit Rd. to 600 feet south of W. Beloit Rd. (WT410140664): Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 5010 -- $7,000; Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $8,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $135,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2014 construction season.

S. 27th St. - 500 feet north of W. College Ave. to W. Sycamore St. (WT410140007): Water main alteration. (Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 5010 -- $12,000; Nonassessable Water Fund Budget Line 6410 -- $13,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $350,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2014 construction season.

Further Resolved, That all City Departments are authorized to perform engineering, surveys, plan preparation, and determine an estimated cost thereof; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
