Title

Resolution creating the Granville-Havenwoods Advisory Council

Analysis

This resolution creates a 7-member Granville-Havenwoods Advisory Council to make recommendations to the City regarding development proposals within the greater Granville and Havenwoods neighborhoods.  The boundaries under the Council’s purview shall be: W. County Line Rd., Good Hope Rd., N. 43^rd St., and N. 107^th St.; 

Body

Whereas, The Granville Development Advisory Council was created in 2017 to make recommendations to the City regarding development proposals within the greater Granville area; and

Whereas, A need has been seen to create a body that includes the Havenwoods neighborhood to serve in the same advisory role as well since both areas face similar issues and obstacles; now, therefore, be it

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Granville-Havenwoods Advisory Council is created; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the boundaries under the Council’s purview shall be: W. County Line Rd., Good Hope Rd., N. 43^rd St., and N. 107^th St.; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the Granville-Havenwoods Advisory Council shall consist of the following 7 members. each to serve 3-year terms:

1.                      One member appointed by the Mayor and approved by the Common Council.

2.                      Two members appointed by the Common Council President and approved by the Common Council.

3.                      Four members appointed by the Common Council member representing the 9^th Aldermanic District and approved by the Common Council.

; and, be it,

Further Resolved, four appointees shall  be residents,  property owners, business owners or representatives of businesses within the Granville area and three appointees shall be residents, property owners, business owners or representatives of businesses  the within Havenwoods area.; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the members of the Granville-Havenwoods Advisory Council shall elect the chair of the Council; and, be it

Further Resolved, That the City Clerk’s Office shall provide staff support to the Granville-Havenwoods Advisory Council; and, be it

Further Resolved, That Common Council File Number 231942 is rescinded.
