Resolution relative to acceptance and funding of a Safe Opening and Operating Grant.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Department of Public Works to accept and fund a Safe Opening and Operating grant from FEMA through the State of Wisconsin, Wisconsin Emergency Management; in the amount of $27,000 of which $27,000 is being provided by the grantor and $0 would be provided by the City. The purpose of this grant is to purchase KN95 masks.

Whereas, Under the terms of CFDA #97.036 the City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for an Safe Opening and Operating grant from FEMA through the Wisconsin Emergency Management, and
Whereas, The operation of this grant from 10/01/2021 to 09/30/2022 would cost $27,000 of which $27,0000 would be provided by the Grantor, and $0 will be provided by the City; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that acceptance and funding of an Safe Opening and Operating grant is authorized and the Department of Public Works shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Section 304-81, Milwaukee Code of Ordinances; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2022 Special Revenue-Grant and Aid Projects, the following amount for the program titled: 2021-2022 Safe Opening and Operating Grant:

Grantor Share $27,000
Create the necessary Grant and Aid Project/Grant and Project/Grant levels; budget against these Project/Grant values the amount required under the grant agreement;
Establish the necessary City Share Project Values; and, be it
Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted for the Milwaukee Department of Public Works which is authorized to:
Expend from the amount budgeted for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date;
Transfer funds within the project budget as long as the amount expended for each specific purpose does not exceed the amount authorized by the budget by 10 percent; and
Enter into agreements as detailed in the grant budget.
