Title

Resolution authorizing the issuance of a street occupancy permit to WDG Construction Group for construction activities at West Juneau Avenue, west of North 10th Street, adjacent to the property at 1009 West Juneau Avenue in the 4th Aldermanic District.

 

Analysis

This resolution authorizes City officials to issue an occupancy permit to WDG Construction Group allowing them to occupy the southern sidewalk, parking lane, and travel lane of West Juneau Avenue from North 10th Street to a point 265 feet west.

 

Body

Whereas, WDG Construction Group has been contracted for construction services at 1009 West Juneau Avenue; and

 

Whereas, WDG Construction Group  has requested to occupy the southern sidewalk, parking lane, and travel lane of West Juneau Avenue from North 10th Street to a point 265 feet west beginning September 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018; and

 

Whereas, WDG commenced occupancy of the right of way on September 1, 2017, prior to obtaining the proper permit; and

 

Whereas, Pursuant to Milwaukee Code of Ordinances Chapter 115-4.5-2, where the public way is occupied without first obtaining a permit as required by Chapter 115, the fees shall be doubled; and

 

Whereas, WDG Construction Group will be responsible to contact all affected property owners and businesses informing them of the closure and the affected dates; and

 

Whereas, The Commissioner of Public Works may approve temporary occupancy of up to one-third of the width of the right of way while temporary use beyond that point must be approved by the Common Council; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the appropriate City officials are hereby authorized to issue an occupancy permit to WDG Construction Group allowing them to occupy the southern sidewalk, parking lane, and travel lane of West Juneau Avenue from North 10th Street to a point 265 feet west beginning September 1, 2017 through June 30, 2018; and be it

 

Further Resolved, That WDG Construction Group shall pay double permit fees for such occupancy, including inspections and parking meter hood fees.
