Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Milwaukee Public Library (MPL) to apply for, accept and fund a Focus on Energy Program Grant from Milwaukee School of Engineering in the amount of $42,712 with a city share of $712 and a grantor share of $42,000. The purpose of the project will allow MPL to implement energy efficient measures at Washington Park Library.

Whereas, The City of Milwaukee appears to be eligible for grant funds from Milwaukee School of Engineering for the purposes of implementing energy efficient measures at Washington Park Library; and
Whereas, The operation of this grant from 07/01/02 to 03/30/03 would cost $42,712 of which $712 (2%) would be provided by the city and $42,000 (98%) would be provided by the grantor; now, therefore, be it
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Milwaukee Public Library shall accept this grant without further approval unless the terms of the grant change as indicated in Common Council File 940843 (Grant Ordinance); and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized to:
1. Commit funds within the Project/Grant Parent of the 2002 Special Revenue--Grant and Aid Projects, the following amounts for the project titled Focus on Energy Program Grant:

2. Create the necessary Special Revenue Fund - - Grant and Aid Project/Grant and Project Level values; budget to these Project/Grant values the amount required under the grant agreement;
3. Establish the necessary City Share Project values; and, be it
Further Resolved, That these funds are budgeted for Milwaukee Public Library which is authorized to:
1. Expend from the amount budgeted for specified purposes as indicated in the grant budget and incur costs consistent with the award date;
2. Enter into subcontracts and leases as detailed in the grant budget.
