Substitute resolution determining it necessary to make various nonassessable public improvements at various locations and appropriating funds for these purposes with the City engineering cost estimated to be $50,000 for a total estimated cost of these projects being $994,000.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes engineering studies on projects which by City Charter are nonassessable. After design plans and estimates of costs have been prepared, a resolution authorizing construction will be submitted to the Common Council. The City cost for engineering these projects is estimated to be $50,000 with the total cost estimated to be $994,000.

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that it is necessary and in the public interest to do the following described improvements according to City specifications:
4th Aldermanic District
N. 8th St. - W. Highland Ave. to W. Winnebago St. (WT410071089): Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000) The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $225,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.
10th Aldermanic District
W. Park Hill Ave. - N. 60th St. to N. 62nd St. (SM495060013) File Number 051658: Relaying sanitary and storm sewers. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $10,000 additional funds). The total estimated engineering cost including this request is $25,000. The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $196,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.
11th Aldermanic District
S. 55th St. - W. Howard Ave. to W. Waterford Ave. (WT410070009): Relaying water main. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $15,000). The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $350,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2008 construction season.
14th Aldermanic District
E. Holt Ave. - S. Chase Ave. to S. Whitnall Ave. (SM495060018) File Number 051658: Sanitary sewer relay. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $10,000 additional funds). The total estimated engineering cost including this request is $27,000. The total estimated cost for this project including the requested amount is $223,000. This project is anticipated to be completed during the 2007 construction season.

Further Resolved, That all City Departments are authorized to perform engineering, surveys, plan preparation, and determine an estimated cost thereof; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it
Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
