Substitute resolution approving construction of nonassessable public improvement projects at various locations.

Analysis

This resolution directs the installation and construction of certain public improvements which have been determined to be nonassessable by the Commissioner of Public Works.

Body

Whereas, The Common Council of the City of Milwaukee adopted preliminary resolutions determining it necessary and in the public interest to construct nonassessable improvements; and

 

Whereas, Plans, specifications and cost estimates have been prepared for the following described improvements:

 

5th Aldermanic District

 

W. Mill Rd. Over the Menomonee River (ST30682801/BR30682801/WK6831060005) (2575-02-74) File Number 041711:  Asphalt pavement, grading and fill, and bridge replacement. (Grantor Paving Fund -- $227,000; Grantor Paving Reimbursable Cash Fund -- $34,000; City Share Nonassessable Paving Fund -- $62,000; Grantor Structure Fund -- $378,000; Grantor Structure Reimbursable Cash Fund -- $57,000; City Share Nonassessable Structure Fund -- $144,000; City Share Nonassessable Sewer Fund -- $4,000).  These funds are to be transferred to the construction accounts ST30682810 and BR30682810.

W. Bradley Rd. Bridge (and Approaches) Over the Little Menomonee River (ST30980301/BR30980301/WK6831060006) (2145-04-71) File Number 881685:  Concrete pavement reconstruction from N. 91st St. to N. 94th St.  Bridge replacement over Little Menomonee River. (Grantor Paving Fund -- $457,000; Grantor Paving Reimbursable Cash Fund -- $69,000; City Share Nonassessable Paving Fund -- $123,000; Grantor Structure Fund -- $497,000; Grantor Structure Reimbursable Cash Fund -- $75,000; City Share Nonassessable Structure Fund -- $143,000; City Share Nonassessable Sewer Fund -- $16,000).  These funds are to be transferred to the construction accounts ST30980310 and BR30980310.

 

8th Aldermanic District

 

W. Canal St. - N. 25th St. to Selig Dr. (ST211050151) File Number 041405:  Additional costs for repairing subgrade, and additional gravel. (Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $20,000).  The total cost to date of the local funded street portion is $2,030,000.

 

12th Aldermanic District

 

Bioretention system located west of S. 12th St. and south of W. Canal St. (SM499060001):  Bioretention new sewers. (Nonassessable Sewer Maintenance Relay Fund -- $1,000,000)

 

Various Aldermanic Districts

 

Asphalt resurfacing of various streets by contract. (ST211060160) File Number 051082:  (Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $300,000)

 

Sealcoating of various streets by contract. (ST211060161) File Number 051082:  (Nonassessable Reconstruction Paving Fund -- $300,000)

 

Various locations within the City of Milwaukee (WT410061500) File Number 041695:  Water main alterations due to paving work. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $240,000)

 

Various locations within the City of Milwaukee (WT410061700) File Number 041695:  Water main alterations due to sewer work. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $190,000)

 

Various locations within the City of Milwaukee (WT410061300) File Number 041695:  Water main alterations by Milwaukee Water Works due to paving work. (Nonassessable Water Fund -- $40,000)

 

; now, therefore, be it

 

Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works is authorized and directed to proceed with said work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the Department of Public Works is authorized to use the funding as specified in the above description of work; and, be it

 

Further Resolved, That the City Comptroller is authorized and directed to transfer such funds which are available for this purpose to the appropriate capital Project/Grant accounts.
