Analysis
This ordinance provides for across-the-board increases in plumbing plan examination fees. It also makes various revisions to the plumbing plan examination fee provisions of the building code, including:
1. Eliminating the distinction between new construction and additions when calculating plan examination fees for commercial buildings.
2. Raising the maximum number of fixtures that can be installed as part of a building alteration project without a plan examination requirement. The number is increased from 5 fixtures to 10 fixtures.
3. Creating a fee of $100 for plan examination of multi-purpose piping systems in one- and 2-family dwelling units and manufactured housing.
4. Adding a $300 fee for plan examination of storm sewers installed in conjunction with a stormwater management plan.
5. Allowing for the rejection of plumbing plans that contain substantial errors or omissions. Payment of a second plan examination fee may be required for reexamination of a plan that has been rejected.
