Resolution authorizing the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a Cost Sharing Agreement with Milwaukee County for the planned improvement of North 107th Street  (CTH F) from West Brown Deer Road to West County Line Road and to set up funds for design engineering and construction at an estimated City of Milwaukee share of $460,000.
Analysis
This resolution authorizes the Commissioner of Public Works to execute a Cost Sharing Agreement with Milwaukee County for the design and construction of North 107th Street (CTH F) from West Brown Deer Road to West County Line Road. This resolution also directs the City of Milwaukee Comptroller to transfer funds and establish project/grant chartfied values for the engineering and construction for this project. The total estimated cost of the project is $4,000,000 of which the City of Milwaukee's estimated share of costs is $460,000.
Body
Whereas, Milwaukee County's Department of Transportation has scheduled the improvement of North 107th Street  (CTH F) from West Brown Deer Road to West County Line Road for the 2013 construction season; and
 
Whereas, Milwaukee County has undertaken the necessary preliminary engineering and plan preparation for the improvement; and
 
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee has requested and Milwaukee County has agreed to undertake work, as shown in the attached agreement, in conjunction with the improvement project at City of Milwaukee cost; and
 
Whereas, The City of Milwaukee's costs for proposed work estimated to be $92,500 for paving of the intersection at West County Line Road, including real estate acquisition; $344,500 for water main, and $23,000 for sewer manhole adjustments; and
 
Whereas, Milwaukee County has prepared a Cost Sharing Agreement to address those costs that will be the responsibility of the City of Milwaukee as part of the project; now, therefore, be it
 
Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee, that the Commissioner of Public Works is hereby authorized to execute a Cost Sharing Agreement with the Milwaukee County for its share of the costs associated with the improvement of North 107th Street (CTH F) from West Brown Deer Road to West County Line Road, a copy of which is attached to the Common Council File No. 120351 and is incorporated by reference as though set forth in full; and, be it
 
Further Resolved, By the Common Council of the City of Milwaukee that the Comptroller is hereby authorized and directed to create within the Capital Improvement Fund, Grant and Aid Projects, the necessary Project/Grant Chartfield Values for the City of Milwaukee's share of project costs, including engineering review, and transfer to this account the amount required under the grant agreement and City Accounting Policy but not to exceed a 10 percent increase of the total amounts reserved for grantor's share and local share of $5,000, whichever is greater as follows:
